Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”What is UptimeHawk?
Section titled “What is UptimeHawk?”A monitoring service that checks your websites and servers around the clock from monitoring stations around the world, and alerts you by email, SMS or push notification when one stops responding. See Sign in to UptimeHawk.
How do I sign in?

What counts as a test on my plan?
Section titled “What counts as a test on my plan?”Each website test uses one test. A server uses one test for each check on it: a server with ping, HTTP and SMTP tests uses three. A quick test does not use any. Account > Usage shows how many you have left. See Monitor a website and Monitor a server.
Alerts
Section titled “Alerts”How am I alerted when a site goes down?
Section titled “How am I alerted when a site goes down?”UptimeHawk sends a DOWN alert when a website or server stops responding and an UP alert when it recovers, to the contacts you choose, by email, SMS or push notification. See Set up downtime alerts.
Why did my DOWN alert arrive late?
Section titled “Why did my DOWN alert arrive late?”If your mailbox is on the same server or network as the website you monitor, the DOWN alert cannot reach you while the site is down. Send alerts to an address hosted somewhere else, or add an SMS or push contact as well.
How do I stop false alarms?
Section titled “How do I stop false alarms?”A single failed check is not treated as an outage: other locations check again to confirm it first. If you still get false alarms, choose a monitoring profile that confirms outages from more locations. See Tune monitoring sensitivity.
How do I pause alerts during planned work?
Section titled “How do I pause alerts during planned work?”Add a one-time or recurring maintenance window. The time is left out of your uptime figures. See Schedule maintenance windows.
My site is down for some people but not others. How do I check?
Section titled “My site is down for some people but not others. How do I check?”Run a quick test from many monitoring stations at once, and a traceroute from any location that fails. See Troubleshoot with a quick test.
