Add a signature and change webmail settings
Open Settings in the left menu. The settings are grouped into Preferences, Folders, Identities and Responses. Settings apply to webmail only; mail apps keep their own name and signature settings.
Your name and identities
Section titled “Your name and identities”An identity is the name, address and signature your messages are sent with. Recipients see the Display Name as the sender, so set it before you send your first message.
-
Open Settings, then Identities.
-
Select your address marker 1.
-
Enter your name in Display Name marker 2, for example
Alex MartinorExample Co. Sales. -
Select Save marker 4.
The other fields are optional:
- Company: your company or organization name, sent with your messages.
- Reply-To: replies go to this address instead of the one you send from.
- Bcc: a copy of every message you send from this identity also goes to this address.
Add a signature
Section titled “Add a signature”-
Open Settings > Identities and select your address marker 1.
-
Type your signature in Signature marker 3. Select the picture icon at the top of the box to use the HTML editor for bold text, links or a logo.
-
Select Save marker 4.
New messages, replies and forwards now include the signature. To control where it goes, open Settings > Preferences > Composing Messages and change the signature options, such as placing it above quoted text when you reply.
Send from another address
Section titled “Send from another address”If you also own another mailbox, you can add it as an extra identity so you can choose it in From when you write. Select Create marker 5, enter the name and email address, and save.
Only add addresses you own. Mail sent from an address on a domain that is not set up to send through Sheernox is likely to be rejected or marked as spam. See SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
Saved responses
Section titled “Saved responses”Responses are blocks of text you send often, such as directions to your office or an answer to a common question.
-
Open Settings > Responses and select Create.
-
Give the response a name and enter its text.
-
Select Save.
To use it, select Responses in the toolbar while you write a message and choose it by name. The text is added where your cursor is.

Section titled “Preferences”Settings > Preferences has the rest of the options, grouped into sections. The ones people change most often:
