Set up forwarding and out-of-office replies
All of these are set on the address’s page in the control panel: open Emails in the left menu, then select Manage from the address’s menu.
Forward an address
Section titled “Forward an address”There are two ways to forward mail:
- Keep a copy and forward it: on a mailbox’s page, under Forwarders, enter an address in Forwarding address and select Add. Mail is stored in the mailbox and also sent on. Add as many addresses as you need.
- Forward without keeping a copy: make the address Forwarder-only, either when you create it or with Convert to forwarder-only. Use this for addresses like
info@that should land in someone’s existing inbox.
Catch mail sent to any address
Section titled “Catch mail sent to any address”A catch-all address receives mail sent to any address on your domain that does not exist, such as a misspelt name. On the mailbox’s page, switch on Catch-all, or tick Make this email address a catch-all when you create the address.
Catch-alls collect a lot of spam, so use one only if you need it.
Out-of-office reply
Section titled “Out-of-office reply”-
On the mailbox’s page, under Out of office, select Add.
-
Choose the first and last day of the reply in Start and end date marker 1, or tick Send until I turn it off marker 2.
-
Enter a Subject marker 3 and the Message marker 4 people receive.
-
Leave Enabled marker 5 ticked and select Add marker 6.
If you chose Send until I turn it off, remember to switch the reply off under Out of office when you are back.
